Mission

In order to achieve the goal of sustainable development, we further the efforts of the poor, marginalized, exploited, and unorganized sections of society and victims of calamities by setting up community-based organizations that imbibe the values of social responsibility.

Leprosy Rehabilitation Centre, Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu

Sarvodhaya Nagar is a leprosy rehabilitation center founded by Stella Maris, Sarvodhaya Nagar is run and funded by Organic Eastern – Vaigah, which provides accommodation and rehabilitation to the families of leprosy sufferers. We identified leprosy-affected persons who were evicted from their families were living in the streets, at railway stations, and in other public places, we provide them a safe place to live, electricity, water, a community hall, dispensary, gardens, and a place to raise goats and chickens. Organic Eastern – vaigah focuses more on supporting the education of children from these families. Some of the students are now attending nearby schools and colleges to further their education.

As of now, there are 16 families and 68 inmates living in the leprosy colony, each family stays in different homes.
